Have high SAT scores, do an interview, know an alumni.
I finished at a pretty good level in mySep 19 2005English
I finished at a pretty good level in my class with a pretty solid GPA, I had an interview, visited once, the usual.
SAT: 1350 Female
I got a 1600 on my SATs, was 2ndApr 12 2005Linguistics
I got a 1600 on my SATs, was 2nd in my class, had extracurricular activities and leadership roles out the ears, and had a good interview. Wrote my personal statement about discovering grace under fire. Something among those got me a full-tuition scholarship, and I'm told it wasn't the SATs but they won't say anything else. Everyone here is interesting and multitalented though. I recommend having a passion for a certain subject or subjects; they love stuff like that in admissions.
SAT: 1600 Female
I thought my essay was the strongest part ofMar 03 2005English
I thought my essay was the strongest part of my application. Discussed my passion for art, reading, and appreciating the little details about life. Athletics help with admission, and these days I'd say an interview is a must.
ACT: 33 SAT: 1470 Female
I applied EDNov 08 2004Other
I applied ED. With a 50% acceptance rate, I thought it would be easy for most decent students to get in, but I've seen some inconsistencies among my friends who applied. I visited and had an interview with an admissions officer in my town. I had good SAT scores but my grades weren't great.
